The residence certificate is provided by the Central Government and the State Government, through which many schemes can be availed. Now the system of providing residence certificates has been online, before this system was offline, due to which people had to face many kinds of problems. This certificate is required to apply for each employee and to get admission in school or college. A domicile/residency certificate is usually issued to prove that the person giving the certificate is a domicile/resident of the state/central from which the certificate is being issued. This certificate is required to obtain domicile/resident quota in educational institutions and government service as proof of residency, as well as in the case of jobs where local residents are preferred.
Prescribed application forms are available either online or from local authorities, namely, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate / Tehsildar's Office / Revenue Department / District Collector Office, or any other authority specified in the State / Union territory of your residence. You will need to produce proof of continuous residence in the State / Union territory for the minimum period concerned or to hold land in the State / UT based on the rules in the respective State / Union territory. Confirmation of the form may also be required by the authorities along with documents, necessary authority, school certificate, and tehsil investigation report to prove their identity.
