IEC (Import Export Code) license is one of such conditions when you are thinking of importing or exporting from India. The IE code is issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. The IE code application should be made to the Directorate General of Foreign Trade with the necessary supporting documents. Once the application is submitted, DGFT will issue the IE Code for the unit in 15 - 20 working days or less.
