Patent Registration in India

The process of patent registration, an intellectual property right is acquired for an invention made by an individual or firm for 20 years. If it is unique, the government will give you full rights to your product. It gives you full authority to create, use, sell or import a product or process and prevent others from doing so.

Patents in India are governed by the Patents Act 1970 and the Patent Rules 1972. Most cases are, but it can only be extended by an Act of Congress and in rare cases, it can be extended for a few years.
