Indira Gandhi Free Smartphone Yojana: The Government of Rajasthan has launched the Indira Gandhi Free Smart Phone Scheme to empower and make the women of the state digitally literate. Under this scheme, free smartphones will be given to the women and daughters of Rajasthan. The scheme was announced in the Chief Minister’s budget announcement to provide a smartphone with internet connectivity to the female head of the Chiranjeevi family. The Indira Gandhi Smartphone Yojana will be launched on August 10, 2023. Under this scheme, smartphones will also be given to the girls studying in classes 9 to 12 and college, including the women of Chiranjeevi family. Indira Gandhi Free Smartphone Yojana 2024
The Indira Gandhi Smartphone Yojana has been launched by the Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot to provide smartphone internet connectivity to the female head of the Chiranjeevi family. Under this scheme, smartphones will be given to girls studying in classes 9 to 12 and college and other higher classes, including women from Chiranjeevi family. The scheme will be implemented by the Government of Rajasthan from 10th August 2023. Getting a mobile will increase the digital knowledge of the girl students and the girls coming to study from far-off places will get security as there will be mobile connectivity from their home school. Along with the mobile phone provided under this scheme, 3 years of internet will also be free.
The camps will be organized by the government in different phases regarding mobile distribution. Smartphones will be given to more than 1 crore 30 lakh women and daughters by the Rajasthan government. Smart phone SIMs with data connectivity will be made available to the beneficiaries through private and government companies and mobile phone companies providing telecom services. Under the government scheme, smartphones will be distributed at the district and block level in the first phase by holding camps from April 10.

Objective of the scheme
The main objective of launching the Indira Gandhi Smartphone Yojana by the Rajasthan government is to make the mothers, sisters and daughters of the state digitally literate so that they can take advantage of various schemes run by the government and also do their banking work themselves. Women and students will be able to become self-reliant by getting free smartphones.
The camps will be organised at the district and taluk levels.
Women will not need to go anywhere to apply under the Indira Gandhi Free Smart Phone Scheme. The Rajasthan government will organise camps at district and block levels for the implementation of the scheme. Women and daughters of the state will be able to apply by visiting the camps. The beneficiary will have to carry his / her PAN card, Aadhaar card, PPO number of pension. Apart from this, students studying in higher educational institutions in government schools will have to go to the camp with their ID card enrollment card. If the age of a beneficiary is less than 18 years, then the head of the family will have to bring the Jan Aadhaar card, Aadhaar card, PAN card to the camp.
Number of beneficiaries under Indira Gandhi Free Smart Phone Scheme
Under this scheme, smartphones will be given to 30,336 women in Kota district. There are 893 women beneficiaries in Etawah, 903 in Kaithoon, 18279 in Kota South, 7173 in Kota North, 1101 in Ramjaganj Gaddi, 772 in Sangod and 525 in Sultanpur. In rural areas, a total of 39794 women including 6759 in Etawah, 8390 in Sultanpur, 8534 in Sangod, 5850 in Khairabad 10251 Ladpura will be benefitted. In all, 70,130 women of Kota district will be covered under the scheme. Priority will be given to the families of girl students studying in government schools and ITIs. Apart from this, the number of widows and women working in MNREGA is also included.
Camp information will be available on mobile.
Under this scheme, information about the camp will be provided to the eligible beneficiaries through mobile. Beneficiaries will be informed about the camp address and date of camp through SMS on their mobile number registered with Jan Aadhaar Card. Apart from this, the said information will also be sent personally by the local administration to the concerned families. So that women can apply by going to the camps organized from time to time.
