For the overall development of women in the state, it is necessary to keep in mind the following indicators related to women: –

According to the National Family Health Survey 5 (2020-21), 23.1 per cent of women are at a level below the standard body mass index.

Mahtari Vandana Yojana 2024 Eligibility Criteria

  • A family is defined as a husband and wife and their children.
  • Local resident means a person residing in Chhattisgarh.
  • An income tax payer is a person who has filed an income tax return in the previous year on account of income taxable income.
  • Married women aged 21 years and above, including widows, divorcees and divorcees.

Objective of Mahtari Vandana Yojana

To eliminate discrimination and inequality against women in the State, to bring about continuous improvement in health and nutrition standards, to promote economic self-reliance and empowerment and to strengthen their decision-making role in the family.

According to the National Family Health Survey 5 (2020-21), the prevalence of anaemia is 60.8 per cent among women aged 15-49 years and 518 per cent among pregnant women. Keeping in view the suitable scenario, the Cabinet has decided to implement ‘Mahtari Vandana Yojana’ throughout Chhattisgarh with the objective of removing discrimination, inequality and lack of awareness towards women in the society, improving health and nutrition levels and promoting economic self-reliance and empowerment in order to continuously improve the economic self-reliance of women in the state and their health and nutrition level and to strengthen their decisive role in the family.

Eligibility Criteria for Mahatari Vandana Yojana 2024

  • Under the scheme, such category of women will be eligible – married women who are local residents of the state of Chhattisgarh.
  • Widowed, divorced, deserted women below 21 years of age who are married on 1st January of the calendar year of application i.e. the year in which the application is being made will also be eligible for the scheme.

Reasons for ineligibility for Chhattisgarh Mahtari Vandana Yojana 2024

  • Under the scheme, women whose family member is an income tax payer will be ineligible.
  • Any member of whose family is a first class, second class and third class officer / employee working in permanent / temporary / contractual posts in the Government of India or in a Government Department / Undertaking / Mandal / Local Body of the State Government.
  • Any of whose family members is a sitting or former MP / MLA.
  • A member of whose family is the present and former Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Board, Corporation, Board of Directors of the Government of India or State Government.

Benefits of Mahatari Vandana Yojana 2024

  • Assistance to Beneficiaries- The amount of Rs. 1000 / – per month will be paid to each eligible woman during her eligibility period in the applicant’s own Aadhaar Linked DBT based bank account.
  • Women who have been provided financial assistance under the social assistance programme and from various pension schemes through the Social Welfare Department. If the amount of pension is less than 1000 / -, then such eligible women will be sanctioned additional assistance of the same amount. So that they can get a total amount of Rs.1000 / – per month.

How to apply for Mahantri Vandana Yojana

The application process for the scheme is as follows:

  • The application for the scheme can be filled through the online portal of Mahtari Vandana Yojana https://mahtarivandan.cgstate.gov.in and through the mobile app of the scheme
  • 1. Login ID of Anganwadi Centre to fill the application through Anganwadi Centre
  • from the login ID of Gram / Gram Panchayat Secretary (Village In-charge) to fill the application from Gram Panchayat level. Applications can also be made from the Project Office, Women and Child Development Department, for this the project level login ID is
  • Applicants can apply either through the website or through the mobile app. This process of filling the application will be OTP based and selection of the concerned Anganwadi Centre will be mandatory For this, village-wise / ward-wise list of all Anganwadi centres of the state will be available on the web portal.
  • Ward in-charges will be appointed by the urban bodies in the wards falling under urban areas. Login ID will be provided. Applications for urban areas can be filled through the login ID of the Anganwadi centres under the ward, through the login ID of the project office through the ward in-charges. Along with this, applicants can also apply online as per No. 4.

Application Process The application process is as follows:

  • The entire application process will be free of cost.
  • To apply online, the applicant will have the facility to fill the necessary information for the application form in advance. The said forms will be available at Gram Panchayat / Ward Office / Anganwadi Centre / Project Office and at the special camps organized by the district In this form, the applicants will have to provide all the information and a copy of the required certificate along with their signature in the Gram Panchayat / Ward Office / Anganwadi Center / Project Office or in the special camp organized by the district. The applicant will be given a pre-printed acknowledgement of the application filled by him.

Applicants applying automatically through the portal or mobile app will be required to upload all the documents mentioned in clause 827. In case the application or certificate is ambiguous, they will be required to submit their application in hard copy along with all the documents to the nearest Anganwadi Centre / Gram Panchayat / Ward / Project Office in-charge for verification.

The entry of the said filled form will be done online by the camp in-charge at the Gram Panchayat / Ward Office / Anganwadi Center / Project Office and at the special camp organized by the district and on successful registration, the registered mobile number information will be received through SMS.

The application can be filled on the online portal from the login ID of the Anganwadi Center through the Anganwadi Worker and also from the ID of the Village through the Village Secretary. For this, the ID of the village will also be provided to the Gram Panchayat for filling the application for each village.

The secretary of the Gram Panchayat will be the village in-charge and the Anganwadi worker will be the assistant in-charge to fill the application for the scheme. The login ID and password for filling the application in the portal will be provided to the Anganwadi Center and Gram Panchayat. Along with this, the login ID for filling the application will also be made available from the Child Development Project Office level.

Applicants are required to submit the following documents with their application:

  • Self-attested self-attested passport size photograph
  • Documents in respect of local resident (Residence Certificate / Ration Card / Voter ID Card).
