What is PM Vishwakarma Yojana?

Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Yojana or Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana is one of the ambitious schemes of the Government of India. Rs 13,000 crore has been allocated for the scheme. PM Vishwakarma Certificate and ID card will be provided to artisans, craftsmen etc. coming under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana. Registration for this is free.

People registering under this scheme will not only be given training, but they will also be able to take loans at a low interest rate. At the end of the training, 15 thousand rupees will be given to buy tools. PM Vishwakarma Yojana: Eligibility criteria

The following are the eligibility and conditions for PM Vishwakarma Yojana:

  • Those working in one of the 18 traditional occupations mentioned above can also apply for this scheme.
  • The applicant must be 18 years of age at the time of registration.
  • The applicant should not have taken a loan under Central / State-based similar schemes such as PM SVANidhi, PMEGP, MUDRA for self-employment or business development during the last 5 years. If the applicant has repaid their loan of Mudra and Svanidhi in full, they can apply for a loan under PM Vishwakarma. The period will be calculated from the date of loan approval.
  • Applicants working in any government service (Central / State) and their family members (spouse and their unmarried children) are not eligible for this scheme.
  • Only one member of the family will get the benefit of this scheme.

Interest rate on PM Vishwakarma Yojana (2024)

Under this scheme, people will be given loans at a concessional rate of interest. The interest rate is 5%. In the first phase, people will be given a loan of one lakh rupees, while in the second phase, a loan of up to 2 lakh rupees can be taken.

People coming under this scheme can take a total loan of up to Rs 3 lakh. Startup Enterprise Development Loan is up to Rs 1 lakh, for which a tenure of 18 months has been fixed. If any prepayment is to be done after 6 months of loan disbursement, no prepayment charges will be charged from those artisans and craftsmen.

  • The main objective of the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana is to provide skill and financial help to the artisans.
  • In this, the Department of Small and Medium Enterprises located at the tehsil or district headquarters will run training programs.
  • There is a provision to provide financial assistance to the artisans getting training under the scheme.
  • Under this scheme, farmers are given subsidy of Rs 500 per day. Also, skill training will be given for 5 days.
  • There is a facility to give a grant of Rs 15,000 as toolkit incentive.

Step-2: On the home page, you will see the option of Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana, UP. However, you have to first register by going to the option of New User Registration.

Step-3: Now you have to enter and upload the necessary information in the registration form such as the name of the scheme, name of the applicant, state, district, date of birth, mobile number, father’s name, email ID, photo, documents, etc. Also, keep in mind that all uploaded documents should be clearly visible on the site.

Step-4: Be sure to check all the information once you’ve entered it. If everything is correct, then you have to click on the Submit option. Note that once submitted, you will not be able to make corrections. Also, take a print out of the application form.
